You will work with a tight-knit team of colleagues to build a relationship and trust bond with the young people living at the home, be a positive role model, supporting them in overcoming their previous trauma and learning to trust in adults again, along with the help and guidance of your colleagues and Break’s therapeutic services.
- To be able to evidence Break’s values at all times.
- To develop and maintain good working relationships (where appropriate) with fellow professionals as well as with parents, other family members and school staff.
- To protect the service-users from threat to their health, well-being and development, both from inside and outside the home.
- Where possible, to ensure service-users are included in any decision-making related to the day-to-day running of the home and shifts.
- To maintain a home environment that is appropriate and sensitive to the needs of the children and young people including specific needs such as dietary requirements, cultural activities and religious observance.
- To ensure the key stages such as referral, admission and transition run smoothly and timely and reflect decisions recorded in care plans.
- To ensure compliance with all statutory and legislative requirements and, where appropriate, participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of individual care plans.
- To ensure that you work in accordance with the health and safety training that you are provided, following policies and notifying whoever is responsible for health and safety in a given working environment should you identify an unsafe condition, hazard or risk.
