When you join Your Trust as a Coach you will be part of a charity based across the Rochdale Borough that aims to support every member of our diverse community to live their best life; inspiring them to be healthier, happier and creative people.
£25,040 to £28,252
per year proportional for part time hours
Part time
(10 hours per week.)
Various locations throughout the Rochdale Borough.

Key information

You will provide a professional, efficient and high quality service to customers of Your Trust. This includes using your skills to plan and deliver programmes and groups such as: holiday clubs, sports groups and other physical activity projects in a safe and fun manner. You will also lead on monitoring and evaluation and support and manage the Casual Coaches and Volunteers.

You will be expected to be flexible to ensure that the needs of the business are met at all times and evening, weekend and Bank Holiday working will be required as directed by the service. This role is fixed term until the end of August 2026.

About the role

  • Plan and deliver a wide variety of sport and physical activity programmes within Your Trust venues, schools and community settings including creating and producing appropriate session plans.
  • Plan and deliver programmes that enable participants to fully participate.
  • Plan and deliver specific programmes that increase participation for underrepresented or specific groups as agreed.
  • Design and undertake progression, monitoring and evaluation activity ensuring requirements for funding or specific programmes are addressed.
  • Engage and manage Casual Coaches and Volunteers who assist in the planning and delivery of the programmes, taking into account their skills, knowledge and ability.
  • Responsible for Safeguarding of Children and Vulnerable Adults and First Aid including the reporting off accidents and incidents,

Requirements

  • Qualified to Level Two from a Sport’s Governing Body or hold a Community Sports Leader Level Two.
  • Experience of planning and developing physical activity sessions for children, young people or adults.
  • Hold Emergency First Aid or demonstrate commitment and ability to achieve within three to six months.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with stakeholders, partners and members of the public.
  • Ability to produce and deliver planned sessions according to the needs or abilities of the participants.
  • Up to date knowledge of coaching methods to deliver sport and physical activity sessions.
  • Friendly, outgoing person who likes to work with different clients.
  • Knowledge of Safeguarding of Children, Young People and Vulnerable Adults.
  • Ability to support and manage Casual Coaches and Volunteers.
  • Excellent communication; both oral and written and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management skills.
