Key information

The Senior Worker is required to provide support to people with mental health problems, excluded from existing services due to lack of appropriate resources to meet their needs. To follow a whole team approach and support staff working within a Strengths and Recovery Based Model. To support the CST Management Team to provide effective team leadership and management to ensure appropriate outcomes are secured, in line with funders expectations.

About the role

  • To lead and operate the CST service referral and assessment procedure, supporting the ongoing Community Mental Health Transformation agenda.
  • To build relationships with service users, some of whom will be resistant to support and intervention, with which they are comfortable, to ensure regular contact and monitoring.
  • To develop and maintain links with social services, voluntary sector and health workers, including Consultant Psychiatrists and CPN's, to ensure service users benefit fully from available services and all local amenities.
  • To attend and develop professional meetings or forums such as: Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings as a part of the Community Mental Health Transformation initiative. It will be necessary to support and develop the work of mental health hubs, expected to start March 2024.
  • To lead on the development and maintenance of links with social services, voluntary sector and health workers, including Consultant Psychiatrists and CPN's, to ensure service users benefit fully from available services and all local amenities.

Requirements

  • Effectively lead, motivate, and manage a team of staff and volunteers. 
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to produce and analyse performance management data. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate clearly at a variety of levels, including with service users and carers
  • Excellent assessment and outreach skills
  • Effectively engage people and form collaborative, warm and empathic relationships with diverse communities, individuals and groups
  • Analyse  and present information and reports clearly for external and internal reporting purposes.
  • Effectively prioritise their own workload, including setting and meeting agreed targets.
  • Well-developed networking skills and the ability to influence others from a broad range of organisations
