About the role

Working as part of our building services teams, potentially working in Healthcare, Defence, Education and commercial sectors, we are now looking for enthusiastic Degree Apprentice MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health) Project Engineers to join our 2026 development programme and help us shape the future.

What you'll do: 

  • Work alongside experienced engineers and construction professionals. Together, you will be solving engineering challenges that arise during the construction of buildings.  No one day is the same. 
  • Learn to design, plan and oversee the installation of building services systems. These include electrical systems, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, drainage, renewable technologies and other bits and bobs that bring a building to life. 
  • Co-ordinating site activities to make sure works get done safely, on time and to meet environmental legislation 
  • Drawing up and translating plans using CAD (computer aided system) and BIM (building information modelling) software
  • Assisting with estimating and tenders in the pre-construction stage 
  • Over time, you will learn to develop cost effective technical and sustainable design solutions involving the production of 3D models, calculations, specifications, reports and drawings. 
  • Undertake a series of rotations and training workshops with our Preconstruction, Health and Safety, Procurement and Environment teams.
  • Overall, you will be assisting with design, planning, health and safety, site operations and commercial tasks.

What qualification will you be studying towards?

You will be studying a Level 3 Building services engineering technician qualification initially; however, we would expect and encourage you to progress on to Level 4 or Level 6 after you have completed Level 3.

Requirements

  • 5 GCSEs at Grades 4-9 including Maths (Grade 6-9), English and Science or their equivalent.
  • You will need to be comfortable with Maths and Physics as engineering is built on these fundamental skills

  • Inquisitive and driven by a passion to grow and innovate
  • You must have lived in the UK in the last 3 years and have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for an apprenticeship. We are not able to proceed with applications that require visa sponsorship.
