We are seeking a motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Deputy Club Leader. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading twice weekly activity nights.

• Work with the Club Leader to plan, coordinate and deliver high-quality twice-weekly club sessions that are engaging, inclusive, well organised and responsive to members’ individual needs and interests. 
• Support the safe and successful delivery of fundraising events, day trips and biannual holidays, assisting with planning, preparation, staffing arrangements, member support and risk management. 
• Provide positive, practical support to volunteers during sessions, helping them understand their roles, engage confidently with members and contribute to a consistent, welcoming club experience. 
• Coordinate the preparation and clearing away of equipment and materials with volunteers, ensuring each venue is ready, accessible, organised and safe before, during and after sessions. 
• Identify and gather appropriate photos, stories or updates for the charity’s social channels and website, ensuring consent, dignity and safeguarding requirements are consistently followed. 
• Communicate clearly and sensitively with members, parents, carers, volunteers, trustees and community groups, sharing relevant information and escalating any concerns promptly to the Club Leader.

• Relevant experience of working or volunteering with people with learning disabilities, additional needs or other vulnerable groups, with a clear commitment to inclusion, dignity, choice and member-led support. 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build trust, listen carefully, respond sensitively and communicate confidently with members, families, carers, volunteers, trustees and external partners. 
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to support activity planning, coordinate people and resources, prioritise tasks and remain calm and practical when needs change during sessions. 
• Ability to work responsibly within agreed budgets, make effective use of charity resources and support good financial awareness when planning activities or events. 
• Ability to support and encourage volunteers in a positive, inclusive way, giving clear guidance, modelling good practice and helping create a collaborative team environment. 
• Good knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessment and equal opportunities, with the confidence to apply policies in practice and seek advice or escalate concerns appropriately.
