About the role

  • Drive between different home locations on a pre-arranged basis.
  • Undertake assessments of the repairs and maintenance work required and take appropriate action.
  • Undertake a range of electrical repairs and maintenance tasks to agreed quality and performance standards, including the following enabling and finishing works.
  • Clean and tidy up following repairs refurbishment work.
  • Direct and assist with the training of apprentices and other assigned trainees.
  • Liaise with customers before, during and after repair and refurbishment work, to ensure the least possible inconvenience, including agreeing suitable appointments.
  • Determine and arrange the appropriate resources required to complete repairs and maintenance work and remove any waste.
  • Actively manage the stock of parts and equipment held on vehicles to ensure the most efficient completion of work.

Requirements

  • National Vocational Qualification level 3 qualification in electrician installation or equivalent electrical industry qualification.
  • City and Guilds 2382:2018 (18th Edition of the wiring regulations).
  • Inspect, testing and certification of electrical installations as stated in BS 7671.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to competently perform the job tasks including understanding detailed instructions and completing documentation.
  • Able to use standard IT systems such as Microsoft Word and email.
  • High level of communication and listening skills sufficient to deal with customers in person or by phone.
