Key information

You’ll be supporting a sociable young woman in her early 30s, who has a learning disability and a personality disorder, in her comfortable supported living home. She’s chatty and loves spending time with others.

She has a pet cat, so you’ll need to be comfortable around cats.

This lady requires 2:1 support at all times, meaning you’ll work alongside a colleague. She has a wide range of interests and loves trying different activities, so you’ll need to be confident supporting her with whatever she chooses to do. She can sometimes find it hard to understand her own emotions due to complex trauma, so you’ll need to be calm, patient, and able to follow her support plans closely whilst ensuring interpersonal boundaries are protected.

About the role

Your role is to help her be herself and achieve her goals while ensuring her safety in the community.

She is independent with personal care but appreciates friendly reminders and encouragement. You’ll provide prompting and active support with:

  • Meal preparation
  • Medication
  • Grocery shopping
  • Household tasks (cooking, cleaning, laundry)

She has her own Motability car, so a full, clean UK driving licence is desirable.
