Key information

As part of the Income Maximisation team, you’ll provide a high quality and solution oriented service to ForHousing Tenants affected by changes in benefits, either due to welfare reform or changes in their circumstances.

About the role

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identifying and reaching out to customers and households at risk of or affected by welfare reform.
  • Offering solutions based on household assessment, either delivered directly or via partner organisations.
  • Ensuring customers’ housing benefit or universal credit is maximised by advising on current regulations and legislation, and supporting customers to make claims.
  • Working closely with our Income team, Independent Living Service, and Neighbourhood teams to ensure our service is consistent and seamless from a customer perspective.
  • Identifying, building, and maintaining effective partnerships with external services to improve our customers’ financial wellbeing.
  • Delivering specific activities to resolve issues faced by households affected by welfare reform, based on customer insight and good practice. This will include advice around Rightsizing moves, Income Maximisation, Welfare Reform briefings, promoting financial products, household financial assessment, and engaging with money and debt advice.

Requirements

What we’re looking for:

  • Knowledge of welfare reform, housing benefits, and universal credit is essential
  • Knowledge of service charges would be beneficial
  • Understanding of social housing issues, or work experience in the sector would be ideal
