Key information

We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on repairs professional to join our Home Repairs Service team, helping us to look after 7,000 homes.

About the role

•Ensuring all works are carried out in line with trade standards and in compliance with relevant health & safety legislation, all Group policies and safe working practice 

• Carrying out a wide range of work dependent on demand

•Working in unoccupied and occupied properties and liaising with tenants during the course of work undertaken

• Be a responsible colleague for allocated vehicle and recording use of ‘imprest’ vehicle stock, plant and tools

• Communicating with the planner and supervisor at all times for work issues

• Providing a ‘right first time’ repair

• Managing materials and van stock as required

• Ensuring that all cost relating to individual jobs are promptly and accurately up-date

• Ensuring appointments for works are made and kept, ensuring that all quality and customer satisfaction targets are met

• Working as part of a team on or own initiative as required

• To be available to cover on rota the ‘out of hours’ emergency repairs service and to provide support and cover for other technicians when needed

• Respond as required to emergency situations, floods/fires etc

• Attend and fully participate in training, 1 to 1 meetings with line manager, Team meeting, toolbox talks and annual appraisals.

Requirements

• Qualified tradesperson in at least one core trade, ideally roofing, 

• Good standard of education

• Relevant City and Guilds or NVQ

• Previous experience of H&S legislation

• Experience of working in a customer focused environment, 

• Strong working experience, or substantial unqualified experience carrying out similar types of work, with a bias to at least one relevant core trade

• Ability to manage the risks associated with lone working

• Knowledge of relevant confidentiality and professional boundary standards

• Evidence of continuing professional development

• Ability to give high levels of service and adopt a right first-time approach

• Valid Driving licence
