Overview

In-person Access PA supporting a neurodivergent executive coach at events, meetings and travel. A practical, values-led role focused on accessibility, organisation and navigating high-stimulus environments. Freelance contract.
£30 per hour (freelance / self-employed; Access to Work funded)
Part time, Temporary
(Ad-hoc freelance role. Approximately 1 to 2 engagements per month on average. Start Date: Flexible, ideally beginning June. This is being offered as a fixed term contract until October 2026, with possibility of extension. )
This role is primarily in-person based in Whitley Bay (with some national travel), with some occasions remote support as required.

Key information

Katie Manasse, Executive Coach, Executive Committee Member of the Musicians’ Union, and Founder of Sea & Sky Coaching, is looking for an In Person Access Personal Assistant to support her work.

The Access PA will help Katie during conferences, meetings, networking events and travel, providing practical and organisational access support.

Katie works across executive coaching, music industry advocacy and neuro-affirming coaching and support. Her work centres on enabling individuals and communities in ways that are inclusive, accessible, and grounded in her values around equity, inclusion and social justice

This is a values-led work and the successful candidate will be someone who aligns with Katie’s approach to neuro-affirming, inclusive and socially engaged work.


About the role

You will provide Access PA support to Katie during conferences, meetings, networking events, and work-related travel across the UK. This role focuses on providing practical and organisational access support. The role includes working in a way that is responsive to Katie’s neurodivergent access needs, supporting focus, navigation of environments and processing of information.

This role sits alongside Katie’s existing Access PA, who provides regular ongoing support (primarily remote, with some in-person meetings). This additional role focuses on regional in-person support and national travel support, accompanying Katie to events or travelling together when needed. Some support may also take place remotely, particularly when Katie is travelling independently but would benefit from remote access assistance.

Support may include (but is not limited to):

Travel and logistics support

  • Acting as a travel companion for conferences, meetings and networking events
  • Helping navigate travel arrangements and responding to unexpected disruptions
  • Supporting travel planning and coordination where needed

Event and networking support

  • Practical support during conferences, networking events, and training sessions
  • Time management support during events
  • Supporting Katie to navigate busy, high-stimulus, or complex environments, including locating access provisions e.g. quiet spaces 

Administrative and organisational support

  • Note taking during in-person meetings or events
  • Filtering key information and capturing important points
  • Debriefing after events and logging actions

Access and wellbeing support

  • Grounding and emotional regulation support during high-stimulus environments
  • Helping Katie prioritise next steps after events

About Katie

Katie Manasse is an Executive Coach and Founder of Sea and Sky Coaching, with a focus on neuro-affirming coaching and support. She serves on the Executive Committee of the Musicians’ Union and contributes to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives through the EMCC European Coaching EDI Steering Group.

Katie lives by the sea, which inspired her coaching practice Sea and Sky, and is an avid swimmer. She is a parent to a school-aged son, enjoys relaxing with her cat Luna, cross stitch, TV and music. She is a passionate advocate for LGBTQIA+ and disability rights, bringing these values into her professional work and community involvement.

Location: Applicants should be based within up to 1 hour travel distance of Whitley Bay / Newcastle. Note: Local travel to Katie’s base is not payable. Travel with Katie to events and national engagements is paid, with food and accommodation expenses covered where applicable.

Working Pattern:

  • Ad-hoc freelance role
  • Approximately 1 to 2 engagements per month on average
  • Some engagements may involve national travel and overnight stays
  • Support may also be provided remotely when Katie is travelling independently

Requirements

Essential

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience providing professional support to a neurodivergent person, with understanding of neurodivergent-affirming practice
  • Comfortable providing practical and access support in professional environments
  • Skilled in note taking, filtering information and logging actions
  • Confident navigating UK travel, including public transport, travel apps and responding to disruptions
  • Able to provide grounding and emotional regulation support
  • Supportive with time management and prioritisation
  • Flexible ad-hoc freelance / self-employed availability
  • Willing to travel nationally and occasionally stay overnight
  • Alignment with Katie’s values, including neurodivergent-affirming practice, LGBTQIA+ inclusion and equity-focused work

Desirable

  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive when needed (not essential)
  • Lived experience of neurodivergence, or strong personal understanding of neurodivergent experiences

Personal Qualities / Working Relationship

Katie is looking for someone with a calm, grounded and attentive presence, able to provide practical support while navigating dynamic professional environments. The ideal candidate is observant, organised and able to remain focused and attentive during busy, high-demand environments such as conferences, networking events and travel.

You should be comfortable taking initiative when appropriate, while also checking in collaboratively with Katie. A good sense of humour, openness and reflective working style are important.
