About the role

As an In Work Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in enabling people with learning disabilities and autism to thrive and sustain their employment. Working in partnership with clients, employers, and colleagues, you will deliver person-centred support that combines practical job coaching, workplace monitoring, and advocacy for reasonable adjustments. You will utilise Access to Work funding to secure additional support, helping clients overcome barriers and achieve greater independence at work. Through proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and a commitment to safeguarding and equality, you will contribute to a culture where every individual is empowered to reach their full potential and where inclusive employment is championed across diverse settings.

Requirements

  • Positive commitment to further training and self-development.
  • Training and Development, Social Work, or other relevant professional qualification.
  • Coaching qualification.
  • Experience or knowledge of working with disadvantaged people.
  • Experience in motivating others.
  • Experience working with people who have a disability.
    Experience working in a multi-disciplinary setting.
  • Experience working in the supported employment sector
  • Good knowledge of IT packages such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act and ability to take care of your own health and safety and that of colleagues, service users and the public. 
  • An understanding of Access to Work and supported employment models. 
  • Awareness of data protection and confidentiality requirements.
  • Awareness of and commitment to anti-discriminatory practice
  • Awareness of and commitment to safeguarding best practice.
  • Understanding of Access to Work processes and how to apply for funding.
  • Driving Licence and Vehicle for Business Use (required)
