Key information

United Response is looking for a motivated and supportive Job Coach to join our Employment service (ESEE) in Handsworth, Sheffield.

This is a field-based role and flexibility is essential, as assignments may vary depending on organisational needs and the people we support.

As a Job Coach, you will support People We Support to identify their strengths, skills and interests, helping them move towards sustainable employment, apprenticeships or further training.

2 roles available full time and part time.

About the role

  • Identify the strengths, interests, abilities, and areas for growth of the People We Support to support skill acquisition, job development, and sustainable employment. 
  • Provide tailored, person-centred support, including assistance with workplace integration, vocational training, and volunteering opportunities. 
  • Offer individual and group-based training to develop employability skills, such as communication, time management, and workplace professionalism. 
  • As required, support the delivery Functional Skills support (English and Maths)  
  • Use job coaching techniques to enhance employability, including task analysis, skill-building, and training in specific job roles.

Requirements

  • The ability to form working relationships with people we support, employers, internal and external contacts. 
  • The ability to think creatively to provide support for a diverse range of people we support. 
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and good written skills and IT. 
  • Flexibility to work in a variety of settings and relationships, including working outside normal hours as required. 
  • Self-management, self- motivational and organisational skills. 
  • The ability to contribute to the safety and well-being of people we support, colleagues and yourself at all times.
