Key information

In this new role, you’ll provide practical, commercially focused legal advice on matters across property transactions, development projects, leasehold issues and asset management activity.

This is a hybrid role, offering a balance of home and office working. You'll be expected to spend two to three days per week working from our fantastic Hudson Quay office in Middlesbrough, with the remainder of your time working from home. As business and team needs can vary, you will need to be adaptable and may be required to spend additional time in the office when needed.

About the role

  • Provide sound legal advice on property, development and leasehold matters, helping colleagues understand risks, navigate options and make informed decisions.
  • Draft, review and assist with the negotiation of leases, licences, transfers, easements, deeds, agreements and other property related documents, whilst maintaining accurate records.
  • Support acquisitions, disposals, development schemes and wider property transactions across Thirteen.
  • Review title, leasehold and asset related issues, recommending practical solutions that balance legal risk and customer outcomes.
  • You’ll have the autonomy to assess legal and property risks across a range of matters, escalating complex or high risk issues where appropriate.
  • Support dispute resolution, compliance and audit activities, in collaboration with internal teams and external advisers.

  • A strong understanding of property and leasehold legislation and able to apply this knowledge in a setting.
  • Confident advising colleagues on property legal risk, options and recommended next steps.
  • You’ll be able to identify, assess and manage legal risks, recognising when issues need to be escalated.
  • An excellent communicator, able to explain complex legal concepts clearly to non legal audiences.
  • You’ll build great relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, using your influencing skills to achieve positive outcomes.
  • This is a varied role, so you’ll be organised, able to manage competing priorities and deliver high quality work.
