Touchstone is a partner within Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service. The service offers a range of evidence-based psychological interventions both at step 2 and step 3 as proposed by the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance.

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the team for one permanent and full-time Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join and contribute to the innovation and success of our well-established talking therapies service.

About the role

Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service deliver a service that is patient focussed and evidence based for people with Common Mental Health Disorders complying with the National IAPT Programme.  The service is delivered as a partnership of NHS and third sector providers. The service comprises of Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust, Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, Inspire North, Touchstone, Northpoint Wellbeing, Women’s Counselling and Therapy Service, Home-Start Leeds, IESO Digital, Silvercloud and SignHealth. Together we provide a range of different therapies and mental health support at venues throughout the city.

The service operates a stepped care system, providing evidence based N.I.C.E. Guidance interventions appropriate for the client’s clinical presentation. These include Computerised Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Guided Self Help, Psycho-Educational Classes, CBT Interpersonal Therapy, EMDR, Counselling for Depression and Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy.

Job Purpose

The post holder will be responsible for their own caseload within their speciality area as an autonomous practitioner. In doing so, they will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred programmes of care to a specialist level ensuring that they practice within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post holder will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times ensuring that their practice is grounded in evidence based theoretical and practical knowledge.

Requirements

If you do not hold the relevant qualification for the post (such as PGCert in an IAPT approved course for low intensity psychological interventions) applications will not be accepted.

  • Qualifications Post Graduate Certificate in evidence based psychological treatments (IAPT Pathways) or equivalent.
  • Supervision training in IAPT (LI) pathways from an accredited university OR nearing completion of this supervision training.
  • Minimum 1 year of post PWP qualification experience within an IAPT service.
  • Evidence working with people who have experienced a mental health problem with positive outcomes.
  • Experience working in Primary Care Services.
  • Experience working in a service where agreed targets are in place demonstrating clinical outcomes.
  • Evidence of delivering effective case management and/or clinical supervision.
  • Experience in other areas of mental health provision (in addition to IAPT).
  • Evidence of supporting  service development role and the ability to co-ordinate service delivery.
  • Effective line management to staff and/or trainees, volunteers.
