About the role

Apprentices will complete training at university, as well as on site. This is where they learn from the team of experts on the following topics:

  • Machine maintenance and breakdown response
  • Electrical and robotic systems
  • Logic-based systems and PLC programming
  • IT systems and cyber security
  • Control planning
  • Fault finding and repair – use of manuals and technical drawings

The department is currently supporting an exciting site expansion, which will bring major changes with new equipment and machinery. Apprentices will be involved in design specification, installation, and ongoing maintenance of the equipment.

Requirements

  • Three A Levels including Mathematics at Grade C or above, or equivalent

The ability to listen and absorb information is essential. Rolls-Royce requires someone who is self-driven and can flex to the demands of the business. This is a very important and busy part of the company, where no two days will ever be the same.
