Manchester

Key information

We do this by providing a range of services to people living in Manchester and ensuring we employ people who share our values and beliefs.

Our purpose is to create a space where mental health comes first.

About the role

We value the commitment of our staff and volunteers who work hard to ensure our services are delivered in a way that enables people to feel heard and involved.

We have been delivering services in the city since 1989 (previously as HARP), initially focusing on people living in Hulme, but over the years we have extended our services to meet the needs of people citywide. In 2011, we became one of over 100 Local Mind Associations, as we affiliated to national Mind.

Despite this, we remain an independent charity, governed by our own trustees.

We Believe

• In the power of listening and feeling heard

• A better understanding of mental health, both personally and professionally, benefits everyone

• Everyone has value: something to offer

• Being open to learning and reflecting on experience can improve mental health services: there is no single “right way”

• Everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health needs and we have a part to play in that
