Key information

The Mobile Coffee Van and Employability Coordinator will lead the day-to-day operation of our mobile coffee van, ensuring it runs as a successful and professional social enterprise.

They will be responsible for developing sales and maintaining excellent customer service while creating an inclusive, supportive, and trauma-informed environment for care-experienced young people participating in structured work experience programmes.

Requires travel between Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire

About the role

  • To be able to evidence Break’s values at all times, which underpin Break’s mission “to give young people in, around and leaving care the love, support and ambition they deserve”.
  • To lead on the development of commercial activity of CoffeeBreak, Break charity’s mobile coffee van.
  • Prepare and serve high-quality beverages and refreshments. 
  • Ensure excellent customer service at all times. 
  • Manage cash handling, card payments, stock control, ordering, and daily reconciliations. 
  • Maintain food hygiene, health and safety, and licensing requirements
  • Ensure the van is clean, well-presented, and fully operational. 
  • Plan routes, locations, events, and trading opportunities to maximise income and achieve sales targets.

Requirements

  • Good general standard of education including literacy and numeracy.
  • Full UK driving licence with the ability to drive the mobile coffee van.
  • Experience working in hospitality, catering, retail, or a customer facing environment.
  • Experience delivering training, mentoring, coaching, or work based learning.
  • Experience balancing commercial objectives with social impact.
  • Flexibility and in particular willingness to work evenings and weekends.
  • Able to undertake physical lifting.
