Right now, we're looking for a static Multi Skilled Engineer - Electrical.

This role requires a minimum level of security clearance and may also require a higher level of National Security Vetting. You should be aware that certain levels of clearance or specific projects and or sites have UK residency requirements; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and would not be eligible to undertake this role.

About the role

  • To support the Facilities Management in the provision of a maintenance Service within the defence estate.
  • To comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Health and Safety legislation and safe systems of work in accordance with JSP375. 
  • To work safely on Extra Low Voltage (ELV) and Low Voltage (LV) and generated electrical systems in accordance with all statutory electrical regulations and health and safety legislation and regulations as appointed Competent Person (LV) for Skanska
  • To take responsibility for the maintenance of equipment, plant, services and systems including undertake inspection and testing of electrical equipment and installations including portable appliances. 
  • To diagnose faults and repair within the Power Management System time periods a variety of complex equipment in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations or best practice guidance. 
  • To actively participate in the operation and control of engineering planned maintenance scheme and to complete all report sheets and test certificates where necessary.

Requirements

  • Commercial and relevant trade experience
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and some knowledge of Control of substances hazardous to health
  • Business and Technology Education Council  or Higher National Certificate or City and Guilds Craft certificate or equivalent
  • A recognised apprenticeship 
  • Certificate in 18th Edition Institution of Electrical Engineers Regulation (Current)
