POhWER is a charity who provide information, advice, support and advocacy to people who experience disability, vulnerability, distress and social exclusion. POhWER was set up in 1996 by service users who, tired of others making assumptions about their capabilities and views, wanted equal access to information and a voice of their own.

Our mission is to empower people to have a voice and make a real difference to their lives. We do this by speaking for them when they can't and supporting them to speak for themselves.

Some of the roles we are always recruiting for are: Independent Advocates, Community Advocates, Mental Health Advocates, Secure and Complex Services Advocates and Community Development Workers.

Due to the nature and location of some of our roles, applicants must live within the advertised job area; have a full driver’s licence and access to their own transport. Travel expenses are paid within reasonable travel distance.

Don’t have a licence or access to your own vehicle?

Not all of our roles require traveling which means you do not need a licence. Please ensure to check the job requirements before applying.
