We are inviting applications for the role of Project Officer – Wellbeing.

The Youth Sport Trust is committed to improving young people’s lives through sport. We harness the power of physical education, physical activity and sport to unlock potential, support wellbeing, and create more equitable opportunities for every young person.

As Project Officer – Wellbeing, you will provide programme support and coordination across a range of important, long-term projects. You will work closely with our Wellbeing Team of Programme Managers, who support programmes focused on the health, wellbeing and development of young people from early years through to adolescence.

Interview date: Stage 1: 26 October 2026 (Virtual), Stage 2: 3 November 2026 in Loughborough

About the role

  • Proactively share ways of working and best practice across the Project Support and Networks Services Teams and the wider organisation.
  • Take ownership for key responsibilities within project delivery teams to ensure programme targets are achieved.
  • Support the development of clear and concise project plans to ensure the delivery of programmes, in accordance with the project brief.
  • Ensure implications on other areas of work across the organisation are investigated and considered when planning and implementing programmes.

  • Review, identify and implement areas for system and process improvement to drive efficient and effective ways of working.
  • Build, establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal colleagues, especially the nominated Head of Department and programme Development Managers, in order to support the efficient delivery of programmes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of project management / support with a proven track record of complex delivery.
  • Proven communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively and influence a range of audiences and stakeholders.
  • Experience of co-ordinating work with external partners (for example; other agencies and individuals).
  • An ability to produce and present written and verbal reports.
  • Self reliant, pro-active, able to take responsibility for areas of work and display initiative in solving problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of people, and capability to communicate effectively with all a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively and proactively on own initiative.
