About the role

  • Join the experienced Care Management Team, alongside sixteen other managers, including four managing solo or dual homes, and lead a team passionate about nurturing each child’s potential.
  • Lead and develop a team using your experience and Break’s model of trauma-informed, child-centred care that underpins everything we do. Our homes focus on emotional, physical, educational, and social wellbeing so that young people can thrive.
  • Collaborate with Break’s Therapeutic Team who provide advice, tools and support to embed trauma-informed nurturing care. You’ll also have the opportunity to access regular clinical supervision.
  • Provide effective support to staff, including reflective supervision, guidance and annual appraisals, using Break’s extensive specialist workforce training programmes to grow and develop your team.
  • Work in partnership with children and young people, their families and friends, other colleagues and external agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for each child.
  • Work collaboratively with Break’s Staying Connected service to support smooth transitions when young people leave care, benefiting from our lifelong commitment to them.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in children’s residential care and leadership.
  • Minimum of a relevant qualification (childcare related Diploma at Level 3)
  • A strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and therapeutic parenting approaches.
  • A commitment to creating a safe, stable, and homely environment where children feel they belong.
  • Excellent partnership working with colleagues, external professionals and families.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and supporting teams to deliver the highest level of care.
