We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the Managers in our established charity shop in Stonehouse by covering days off and holidays, this may include some weekends.
£12.74
per hour

Break has over 50 charity shops in East Anglia and the West Country, operating since 1968. The income from the charity shops is vital to the development and continuation of the services we provide for children, young people and families.

About the role

  • To be able to evidence Break’s values at all times, which underpin Break’s mission  of ‘Changing Young Lives’ 
  • To assist the Retail Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the Retail Unit in accordance with Break’s Policies and Procedures.
  • To provide cover for the Manager’s absence as and when required to ensure the needs of the business are met at all times. To assist the Manager in the motivation and organisation of a volunteer team.
  • To ensure that all merchandise offered for sale is sorted, cleaned, pressed and presented to the high standards set out in our Retail Handbooks and meet legal requirements.
  • To ensure that the rotation and disposal of stock is in accordance with the Policies and Procedures set out in the Retail Handbook.
  • To work positively to achieve sales targets and to maximize potential income.
  • To accurately complete all paperwork including the handling of cash, banking and other related records in the absence of the Manager.
  • To comply with all pre-set budgets and monetary control.
  • To maintain a friendly, positive and proactive atmosphere in the Retail Unit that is welcoming to customers.
  • To assist the Manager in keeping the premises clean, tidy and secure at all times in accordance with the Retail Handbook.
  • To ensure that all Health and Safety, Trading Standards, other related regulations and Break Policies and Procedures as set out in the Retail Handbook are understood and adhered to at all times.
  • To work at multiple locations within the Break.
  • To undertake any other reasonable retail related duties and activities to ensure the needs of the business are met at all times.
  • To ensure that you work in accordance with the health and safety training that you are provided.
  •  Following policies and utilising any controls and equipment provided in the interest of health and safety.

  • Good standard of Education including literacy and numeracy
