If you can work in adverse weather conditions and not afraid to clean up unpleasant substances, then look no further. Full training will be given, and you will be provided with a council vehicle for this role. Due to the nature of the work a driving licence is essential as you’ll be required to work in a specific geographical area.

Working alone or in a team of two, you’ll undertake cleaning duties which include general and deep cleaning of offices, housing estates, libraries, neighbourhood centres, sheltered housing, business units and arcades within the city centre. Duties include carpet cleaning, end of tenancy cleans, graffiti removal and cleaning of unpleasant substances and sharps. You’ll carry out litter picking and gritting in adverse weather conditions. Maintaining site and building security, you’ll unlock and lock buildings, as well as monitor the condition of buildings, reporting problems and arranging repairs. You’ll attend a weekly meeting with your charge hand or Area cleaning Manager.

You’ll have some cleaning experience although full training will be provided. With the ability to understand instructions, you’ll be able to work on your own to ensure health and safety is at the forefront whilst completing tasks.
