Key information

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver / Warehouse Operative to support our shops and warehouse operations. 

The role involves delivering and collecting stock between shops and the warehouse, carrying out daily vehicle checks, and communicating effectively with shop managers and the line manager. 

When not driving, you will assist in the warehouse by keeping the area tidy, organising and storing stock, picking and loading goods, processing new deliveries, and sorting donations. 

This is a fast-paced, varied role within a friendly team.

About the role

  • When requested, move stock in the shops between sales floor and other levels and assist the shops in the assembly of furniture and moving the shop floor around where time permits.
  • Respond to requests from members of the public for the collection of donated goods, including furniture.
  • To actively promote Gift Aid, sign up and complete the appropriate Gift Aid paperwork following training given.
  • To deliver furniture that has sold from the shops to the customer’s home.
  • To complete daily vehicle checks to be submitted prior to departing the shop or starting location.

Requirements

  • Considerable van driving experience.
  • Experience of van driving to multi sites against tight schedules and completing corresponding paperwork.
  • Able to recognise the need to show sensitivity and compassion whilst still achieving the task.
  • Well organised and able to adapt and prioritise to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with good attention to detail.
  • An exceptionally friendly and helpful manner with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people.
  • Ability to lift furniture and other donations on a regular basis.
