We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced chartered surveyor to join our Rural Surveying team based in Marlborough. 

The post holder will manage a varied Estate Management portfolio and associated rural professional work and will serve a range of existing private clients across the southern and southwest regions. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a surveyor looking to use their skills and experiences to build their own client base, delivering a range of rural professional services to include valuations, agricultural, commercial and residential tenancy matters, agri-environmental advice, project management and hands-on management.

About the role

  • Management of rural estates primarily (but not exclusively) across the Wiltshire and West Berkshire region, providing high-level strategic management advice with direct client contact
  • Overseeing day-to-day management to include supervision of Estate employees, dealing with external professionals and other advisors.
  • Providing general professional advice on a variety of topics including Landlord and Tenant matters, the preparation of agri-environmental schemes and residential management and compliance.
  • Undertaking valuations for a range of assets including farms, woodland, country houses and landed estates.
  • Working with the Partners to expand the business by identifying new business opportunities across the Rural sector.
  • Participation in the ongoing development and implementation of an effective profit centre business plan developed in line with the Carter Jonas vision.

Requirements

  • You will be Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors qualified with substantial post qualification experience gained within a rural surveyor role. 
  • You will have prior experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders and good working knowledge of all relevant legislation including knowledge of landlord and tenant matters encompassing agricultural holdings, farm business, tenancy and housing. 
  • The successful candidate will be confident, technically competent, numerate and have excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • You will have experience of delivering and managing multiple projects, be competent with Microsoft Office.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
