  • The Security team sits as a core part of the Business Operations department delivering a fast-paced operation in a Wales’ National Arts Centre

About the role

  • The role of a Commissionaire is to act as a security guard for the site providing a manned guarding function all the while embodying the Values and Pillars of Wales Millennium Centre.
  • Commissionaires provide a high visibility, reassuring security presence as well as working behind the scenes to monitor CCTV, and our Life safety systems as well as access control.
  • You will join a team providing 24/7 security to the site.
  • You will combine the role of a patrolling security guard with that of a Control room operator.
  • Answering to the Security Operations Manager you will support in driving our security practices and systems towards continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years previous security experience.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to work a 4 days on 4 days off shift pattern, including over-night, weekends, and Bank Holidays.
  • The ability to conduct regular patrols and the operating of CCTV systems to monitor security of site, customers, visitors and staff is essential.
  • Demonstratable knowledge and understanding of deployment on site for an incident or accident and to take the appropriate steps to achieve resolution.
  • Good interpersonal skills are essential and the ability to read, write and communicate in Welsh will be an advantage.
  • Strong administrative skills to ensure the recording of relevant activities, patrols, checks and incidents in the appropriate logs.
  • It would be advantageous to have First Aid as well as an IOSH qualification.
