If so, we’d love to hear from you! United Response is looking for a dedicated Student Wellbeing Advisor to join our ROC College education team in Truro.

About the role

As a Student Wellbeing Advisor at ROC College, you will:

  • Provide 1 to 1 and group support to students in a holistic and person-centred way
  • Identify and address emotional, behavioural, or social barriers to learning
  • Support attendance and engagement through tailored strategies
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and external agencies to develop personalised support plans
  • Manage a student caseload and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and concerns reported appropriately
  • Promote positive wellbeing and a supportive learning environment

Our mission is to ensure that individuals with learning disabilities, mental, or physical support needs have the opportunity to live life to the fullest. We support around 2,000 people across more than 300 locations in England and Wales, with over 3,600 staff members.

ROC College, a part of United Response, is a specialist college providing person-centred, community-based teaching and learning within Cornwall, Devon, and Somerset. We work with young people aged 16–25 with Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Requirements

We’re seeking a compassionate and proactive Student Wellbeing Advisor to provide holistic support to students with additional needs. You’ll work closely with Learning Mentors, Tutors, Managers, families, and external agencies to help students overcome barriers and reach their potential.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least one year’s relevant experience, ideally supporting individuals with SEN or ASD
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive and empathetic approach with creative problem-solving abilities
  • Understanding of safeguarding, equality, and diversity policies
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle

Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, mental health needs, or physical disabilities is highly desirable.
