Key information

Working closely with the Tax Manager, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of tax matters and play an important role in ensuring compliance across several UK Toyota subsidiaries.

The Financial Accounting team are responsible for keeping an accurate record of our total financial accounts, including our assets, equity, expenses and income revenue. Within the team there are a number of different functions, such as financial reporting, Accounts Payable, payroll and tax.

About the role

  • To support the Tax Manager on matters involving taxation for certain UK subsidiaries.
  • Assist the Tax Manager in ensuring transfer pricing compliance.
  • Monitor any Group Relief claims or surrenders and manage payment for losses from and to other entities in respect of these. 
  • Production of quarterly Value Added Tax (VAT) Returns to ensure Value Added Tax (VAT) compliance.
  • Maintain the Senior Accounting Officer (SAO) Compliance process.
  • Ensure tax procedures are maintained.
  • Setting up of tax processes for new entities with support from the Tax Manager.

Requirements

  • Previous knowledge and understanding of Value Added Tax (VAT) and preparing Value Added Tax (VAT) returns.
  • Experience of partial exemption.
  • Working knowledge of Corporation Tax.
  • Previous experience of working in corporate and deferred tax accounting.
  • Experience of working in a tax compliance or advisory role within a commercial environment, His Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) or in practice.
  • Proficiencies in using Microsoft Office software, including Excel at intermediate and or advanced level.  
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
