We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Business Administration Apprentice to join our service as a Team Secretary within Dementia Services.

As a successful candidate you will have to provide efficient and pro-active secretarial / admin support to the consultants and other team members in a friendly environment where you can develop your skills and achieve the Business Administration qualification.

The apprentice will be expected to meet the requirements of this job description by the end of the apprenticeship. This will be achieved by gaining relevant skills, knowledge and behaviours throughout the structured learning that are set by the training provider and line manager.

This is an Apprenticeship role, Level 3 Business Administrator for a duration 2 years, with the view to be extended to a permanent role on a successful completion of the apprenticeship.

About the role

  • To provide comprehensive and efficient secretarial support to the team; this will include handling all aspects of correspondence, including processing referrals and dealing with telephone enquiries.
  • Liaise with other directorates and staff at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Ensure that all documents and correspondence are filed correctly.
  • Make up new files as required, update labelling and information sheets as necessary and file all case notes in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure that all information is handled in a confidential manner, in line with the relevant policies.

Requirements

  • National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) 3 or equivalent
  • Royal Society of Arts (RSA) 3 or equivalent experience and evidence of further practical experience or equivalent
  • Good standard of secondary education; GCSE at Grade C or above or equivalent
  • Proven experience of a range of secretarial procedures
  • Experience of producing documents to a high standard of presentation with good accuracy
  • Experience of maintaining office systems
  • Experience of working as part of a team
