Hybrid role (minimum of 2 days per week based at any of our hospitals or our Burford offices) with frequent travel to our Veterinary hospitals in London and Grimsby.

About the role

  • Deputise for the Veterinary Support Lead in their absence, ensuring business continuity.
  • Act as the initial point of contact for supplier, product and ordering queries from both internal and external stakeholders by proactively addressing and resolving first line queries and escalating complex issues to the Veterinary Support Lead as needed.
  • Support the end-to-end tender process for services, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
  • Follow the quote process in accordance with policies and procedures, ensuring the right number of quotes are obtained, stored appropriately and distributed to relevant stakeholders for review.
  • Support contract and supplier performance reviews, leveraging clinical expertise to inform procurement decisions and to contribute to the directorate’s ongoing development.
  • To assist in the budget setting process and ongoing management of expenditure.
  • Coordinate and place orders for centrally led ordering including uniform, sundries, pharmaceuticals and equipment.

Requirements

  • Relevant academic education qualification, such as Registered Nurse or Registered Veterinary Nurse, Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons or demonstrable experience in using or procuring veterinary or human medicine.
  • Experience of, or a demonstrable strong understanding of, medical equipment and pharmaceutical applications within the veterinary or health care sector.
  • Experience of creating, maintaining and updating internal software systems, databases, spreadsheets and timelines.
  • Experience of working with demanding schedules and deadlines.
  • Experience of internal and external stakeholder management.
  • Ability to present and communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our Blue Cross values.
