The aim is to help the child safely access the community, participate in enjoyable activities, and develop hobbies and interests.

• Supporting the child to access the community safely.Providing constant supervision and ensuring safety.
• Accompanying the child on activities and outings.
• Being patient, understanding, and responsive to individual needs.Helping the child explore hobbies and interests.
• Supporting the child when they become overwhelmed or dysregulated.
• Recognising communication and behavioural cues.
• Building a positive, trusting relationship.
• Encouraging participation in new experiences while respecting the child's needs and limits.

Activities May Include

• Visits to parks
• Swimming
• Sensory activities
• Walks
• Children's play centres
• Drives and community outings
• Other activities based on the child's interests and comfort levels

The successful PA should be:

• Able to work independently
• Comfortable supporting a child with additional needs
