Job description

Role purpose

  • Lead the marketing team to deliver exceptional and effective marketing activity that delivers against organisational objectives
  • Develop, motivate and grow the Marketing team, play an active leadership role and model behaviour for colleagues
  • Elevate our marketing activity, taking us to become leaders in disability, accessibility and inclusivity, showcasing the impact of our work on the lives of disabled people and our vision of equality for all disabled people.
  • Champion disabled people’s voices and co-production

Main responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Head of Brand and Marketing, deliver our marketing strategy and integrated activity across a range of channels
  • Provide professional advice and expertise to teams across the organisation, demonstrating the value the team brings
  • Work alongside the Head of Brand and Marketing to raise the profile and understanding of marketing across the charity.
  • Forge strong relationships with peers in other teams and establish effective ways of working across functions
  • Work closely with the Brand and Creative Leads to ensure integrated planning and activity across the team and all projects
  • Proactively identify opportunities for, and oversee the integration and amplification of activity throughout the year
  • Take an active role in the working group responsible for our Marketing, Communications and Digital activity; leading working group meetings, interrogating briefs and providing feedback on proposed activity in line with organisational objectives
  • Provide issue resolution and conflict management and escalate to the Head of Brand and Marketing as necessary.
  • Working closely with the other Marketing Lead, lead the Marketing team to ensure they work collaboratively and productively building trusted and positive working relationships with colleagues across Scope
  • Provide engaging and motivating leadership, coaching, management and development of direct reports and the wider Marketing team (including Manager and Executives)
  • Provide pastoral care and management guidance and training to direct reports and peers
  • Deputise for the Head of Brand and Marketing when necessary
  • Work alongside the Audience and Market Insights team to embed audience insight, creative testing and robust evaluation into all activity
  • Analyse customer insights, trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to support building successful marketing strategies and plans
  • Champion and embed co-production in all activity.
  • Working on marketing campaigns across the organisation focusing on services, retail, people, fundraising (including gambling products such as raffles and lotteries), policy and campaigning and partnerships marketing.

Person specification

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Previous marketing experience within a high profile or innovative brand including developing and implementing marketing strategies, integrated campaigns and content development.
  • Expert at translating organisational and marketing objectives into marketing strategies and appropriate tactics.
  • Enjoy building constructive and collaborative relationships with peers, able to negotiate, influence and build credibility.
  • Confidence inworking with and managing agency relationships
  • Extensive experience of managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritising in order to meet objectives
  • Proven experience of establishing new ways of working and embedding processes across Marketing, Communications and Digital teams within a complex organisation
  • Practical experience of co-production in delivering marketing campaigns.
  • Solid experience of delivering marketing activity across all online and offline channels
  • Experience of either managing or working with Digital Marketing teams
  • Experience of running fundraising campaigns

Desirable

  • Understanding of the social model of disability
  • Understanding of inclusive design and accessibility
  • Experience of running integrated campaigns for Services, Partnerships and Policy and Campaigns teams

Qualifications

  • There is no need for formal or professional qualifications to do this role although evidence of commitment to continued professional development is required.
