Job description

As the Public Fundraising Coordinator, you will work specifically within the Community and Events Team. You will be responsible for generating income through a range of third party and Scope owned events. As well as supporting individuals organising their own fundraising in the community. You will provide excellent customer service for all the wonderful supporters who choose to fundraise for us.

This is an exciting time to join the team and help grow community and event fundraising, while championing accessibility and inclusion across the Public Fundraising portfolio. We’re in the process of refining and growing both our community fundraising programme and events portfolio. And we look to launch new innovative products to diversify our offering.

Main responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for all new enquiries and ensure supporters receive excellent customer service
  • Keep accurate records on the fundraising database and other event management systems
  • Work with the Finance and Database teams to accurately process income and expenditure
  • Support the team across key events and projects. For example, this includes the London Marathon, Great North Run and Community Fundraising.
  • Work with the Community and Events team to develop compelling content for supporter journeys that deliver excellent stewardship and build lifetime value for Scope
  • Liaise with third party event agencies
  • Build relationships and work collaboratively across the department to ensure success of projects
  • Contribute to monthly budget reports, reporting on variances
  • Represent Scope and attend key events across the calendar year (including some weekend work)
  • Continually innovate to progress and improve the projects that you work on
  • Plan, deliver, report, and evaluate the projects you are responsible for
  • Support with the successful launch and delivery of new innovation opportunities
  • Contribute to the team strategy, plans and development, improving efficiencies across all areas of work

Person Specification

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Strong customer service skills and a proven track record of maintaining high standards of customer care
  • Strong administration skills and a proven ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience of working efficiently under pressure and dealing with conflicting priorities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of office programmes including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Desirable

  • Demonstrable understanding of the social model of disability
  • Has experience of working with databases
  • Has an interest in sports fundraising, gaming or experience fundraising for charity
