Disability Charities Consortium

At Scope, we are proud to be a member of the Disability Charities Consortium (DCC), a group of 9 disability charities committed to achieving equality for disabled people.

As part of the DCC, we work collaboratively with the other members to make sure the experiences of disabled people are heard by government and businesses. Helping to influence policy decisions and business practices.

How the DDC works

Together we:

• feed insight and concerns to the Disability Unit to help inform policy decisions
• regularly meet with the Disability Unit's senior officials and important ministers
• engage with the unit's stakeholder engagement team

Our achievements

The DCC has produced the following responses:

• our manifesto for the National Disability Strategy (January 2021)
• our joint response to the Women and Equalities Select Committee (July 2022)
• our updated manifesto on disability equality (September 2022)
