Fundraising ideas

Whether you are a first-time fundraiser joining the party or a regular fundraiser aiming to smash your previous target. Our dedicated Fundraising Team have put together our top 10 fundraising ideas, so you can hit the ground running!

Stay safe. When planning your fundraising activities, please make sure you follow Government guidance on coronavirus.

  1. Ebay your clutter
Out with the old and in with the new! Clear out your cupboards and sell your items on eBay. You can donate clothes and smaller items to us. Find your local Scope charity shop.
  2. Switch up your commute
Choose to walk, cycle, wheel or run to work and donate the money you save on your commute.  Encourage your colleagues to do the same. Start your day on the right foot (literally!).
  3. Hair and share
Grow a beard, brave the shave or wax your legs. The choice is completely up to you! Be sure to share photos or a video online and encourage your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you.
  4. Challenge yourself!
Staying fit can improve your physical and mental wellbeing. Give yourself the challenge of exercising every day for a month. Set a daily target like: number of steps, repetitions, or a distance. Ask your friends to sponsor you.
  5. Gaming tournament
Challenge your friends to a gaming tournament. Choose a game and host it on Twitch. Ask your participants and followers to donate.
  6. Set up a birthday fundraiser
Is last year’s birthday present from your brother still sat at the very back of your closet gathering dust? Why not set up a Facebook fundraiser.
  7. Themed fundraisers
Try a creepy caper this Halloween and have a fancy dress contest with the kids. Get your family and friends to vote for a winner and to donate to Scope online.
  8. Hit the books
Organise a virtual book club. Discuss your favourite books with your family, friends and colleagues. Let people join for a small entry fee.
  9. Get crafty
Are you nifty at knitting, wonderful with watercolours or a dab-hand at drawing? Turn your hobby into a fundraiser for Scope. You could host a virtual workshop for friends and family or make bespoke items in return for donations.
  10. Matched giving
Many organisations have a Matched Giving scheme where they can double what you raise from your fundraising activity. Ask your employer if they have this scheme and give your fundraising a huge boost!
