As the Challenge events Fundraiser, you will support the Challenge events Fundraising team in delivering Scope’s Challenge events Fundraising strategy. You will provide administrative support to the team, assist in the innovation and growth of our challenge events programme as well as event logistics and stewardship.

Challenge events Stewardship

  • Support in the delivery of all aspects of the Challenge events Fundraising programme, maximising income and future growth
  • Ensure that Scope is on brand and well represented at challenge events
  • Optimise growth and effectiveness across all areas of challenge events delivery, including product development, stewardship, and marketing
  • Monitor the external market to feed into regular reviews to ensure that Scope remains competitive and up-to-date with its challenge events fundraising
  • Support the team in delivering excellent stewardship, encouraging long-term challenge events participant relationships
  • Support the team in developing and delivering new Challenge events fundraising activities

Sector Knowledge

  • Stay updated on Challenge events Fundraising trends across the sector

Compliance

  • Follow fundraising compliance procedures
  • Work with the team to ensure all Challenge events Fundraising communications are compliant with the Fundraising Regulator and other applicable codes of practice
  • Ensure all Health & Safety and Safeguarding procedures are followed at events.

Person specification

Knowledge and experience

Essential

  • Experience in fundraising challenge events or similar.
  • Experience in developing stewardship and engagement communications. 
  • Basic understanding of fundraising principles and practices, including fundraising compliance and data protection. 
  • Experience in managing projects to meet deadlines.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of the barriers facing disabled people in the UK, and an understanding of the Social Model of Disability. 
  • Experience in working with external agencies. 
  • Relevant qualifications or coursework in fundraising, marketing, or a related field. 
  • Interest in trends in UK charity sector, fundraising and introducing new products or approaches. 
  • Experience in managing fundraising marketing campaigns.

Skills and competencies

Essential

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire supporters. 
  • Willingness to work collaboratively within a team and across departments. 
  • Enthusiasm for developing new fundraising ideas and products. 
  • Good administrative and organisational skills. 

Desirable

  • Familiarity with using CRM systems and other fundraising software. 
  • Interest in event management and stewardship. 
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with supporters and volunteers.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid or fully remote environment. 
  • Numeracy skills for financial data.
