How we produce our information

We produce independent, up to date information for disabled people and their families, friends and carers. It covers a wide range of subjects and issues that affect people’s lives. Our information is free to everyone, and you do not have to sign up to access it.

How do we ensure quality?

Specialist user researchers work with disabled people to understand the information they need.

We work with subject matter experts to create the online advice and support that disabled people need. Subject experts check each page every year. The last reviewed date is on every page.

We check people’s feedback regularly. Feedback helps us improve the content.
Our content is not created by AI.

What makes the content clear?

We want our content to be as accessible and easy to understand as possible. So, we:

  • use plain English
  • test for readability
  • avoid jargon and acronyms
  • use short sentences and bullet points
  • use headings to divide the content into sections
  • explain any links

We test all content with disabled people to make sure it answers their questions clearly. Our aim is to help disabled people solve problems.
