Lynda's story

Lynda shares her experience of extra costs

“I've had rheumatoid arthritis since I was two-years-old, I am 55 years old.

Because of my arthritis I have to keep warm. I need to have the heating on to keep the house warm. So, heating costs are expensive, approx £70 a month.
I cannot use the toilet independently unless I have a bidet toilet which cost over £4,000. Some of my friends see having a bidet toilet as a luxury, but I need one so I can be fully independent.

Another cost for me is my electric powerchair, which cost £5,500.”
