Supporting you to support your family with Learn at Scope

Being a parent or carer can be one of the most rewarding parts of life. It can also be one of the toughest. For parents and carers of children with disabilities, there can be many other challenges which can be hard to prepare for.

How Learn at Scope can help

Learn at Scope is a free, interactive eLearning platform. We offer family, education and advocacy support courses designed with and for disabled families.

It’s open to everyone who is:

  • disabled, has an impairment or condition
  • parents and carers of disabled children.

Who are:

  • living in the UK
  • aged 16 and over.

Learn at Scope gives you the flexibility to choose the courses that are right for you and your specific needs.

Our key areas are:

  • Sleep – the science, best practices, how this changes as they grow older
  • Education – navigating the SEND system, preparing for meetings, and ALN rights for those in Wales
  • Advocacy – how to speak up for your child’s unique needs, how to learn from them, what their rights are and how to build the right relationships.

You can:

  • register on as many courses as you want
  • learn at your own pace, at times you choose
  • track your progress

Need to take a break? No problem, we will keep your place. You will be able to start right where you left off.

You can even learn on the go with support for tablets and smartphones.

You will also have opportunities to recap and check your understanding with:

  • quizzes
  • scenarios based on situations you might come across

It’s all designed to work around you. To support you in continuing to be the positive, powerful force in your child’s life, and prepare them to advocate for themselves too.
