Philanthropy

Partners like you are part of who Scope is — and who we are able to be.

Scope is built on partnership — with disabled people, and with those who believe in equality. As the UK’s only pan‑disability charity, Scope exists to build an equal future with disabled people

How to get involved

Real change happens when people come together with a shared belief in equality.

If you’d like to be part of Scope’s work — as an individual, family & trust or foundation — we’ll take the time to understand what matters to you and explore how your involvement could make a difference.

Work with us

We value thoughtful, long-term relationships built on shared belief and trust.

If you’re interested in working with Scope and contributing ideas to improve the lives of disabled people, our philanthropy or trusts teams would be pleased to hear from you.

What we do

Working alongside disabled people, Scope delivers practical support and long term change that removes barriers and creates more equal opportunities at every stage of life.

As a pan disability charity, our work spans individual support, community connection and national change — helping build an equal future with disabled people.

Disability helpline

Our helpline and online advice provide trusted, accessible information on disability benefits, welfare, work, housing and everyday rights. We help disabled people and families navigate complex systems, understand their options and make informed decisions.

Campaigning and policy work

Alongside services, we use lived experience, research and evidence to challenge attitudes, influence policy and drive systemic change. Our campaigning focuses on removing the barriers disabled people face, so equality is built into society — not fought for one person at a time.

Support to Work

Through personalised employment support, we help disabled people find, stay in and progress in work. Support to Work offers one to one guidance, in work support and advice on reasonable adjustments — helping tackle the barriers that exclude disabled people from employment and close the disability employment gap.

The right support builds an equal future

Katie’s story

“Scope was the right place at the right time. I think I was getting very desperate.”

Throughone to onesupport, Katie learned how to talk about reasonable adjustments, disclose her conditions with confidence and advocate for herself at work and university.

“It wasn’t just the confidence of helping me get a job, but it was also the confidence of knowing there was somebody who understood.”

Katie now works two part time roles alongside a master’s degree in medical law and ethics. Reflecting on the impact of the service, she says: “To have someone listen to you andsay‘You’re doingreally well’, it’s a huge confidence boost that I would not have had from anyone else.”

Be part of an equal future

By working alongside disabled people, we’re building lasting change that reaches far beyond individuals and into society itself.

Working in partnership

We’ll take the time to understand what matters most to you and how you would like to be involved — identifying where your partnership can have the greatest impact on building an equal future with disabled people.

In return for your commitment, our experienced philanthropy team will offer:

  • A dedicated point of contact, providing consistent, personal support and ensuring your partnership develops in line with your interests
  • Regular updates on impact, shared in a way that works for you
  • Opportunities to hear directly from disabled people, learning how change is happening in practice
  • Invitations to events and briefings, offering insight into Scope’s work, thinking and future direction

Our philanthropy team can also work with you if you want to help in other ways too, for example:

  • Connecting us with other like minded individuals and organisations
  • Raising the profile of our national campaigns
  • Helping us influence governments and create policy change
