Creator group: Working differently with disabled influencers

We’re trialling a project with emerging disabled content creators on social media. We want to amplify disabled voices and experiences with more authentic, community-led content. And we want to support emerging creators to upskill and grow. The project is a paid opportunity from June 2026 to March 2027.

Complete our short application form to apply. Applications close on 1 May 2026.

Project summary

We’re recruiting a small group of emerging disabled content creators. They’ll have a presence on Instagram or TikTok.

Creators will be paid £100 to £200 per piece of content, expected to be 3 across the period. And they will be paid £25 per hour for attending workshops and events.

Across the pilot period, we’ll have 3 content sprints to create content against a brief. These may be for evergreen content with no time pressures. Or they may be for an urgent response to something happening in the media or politics.

We want to amplify disabled voices in an authentic way. This means we will not police what they say and will not ask them to use Scope’s style or tone of voice. We will provide small edits and review accessibility where needed. Then their content will be posted on Scope’s channels collaboratively with the creators.

Who can apply?

We’re looking for emerging disabled creators based in the UK and over 18. There is no minimum or maximum number of followers needed to apply. But we particularly want to hear from newer and less established influencers we could help grow.

You’ll need to have a presence on Instagram or TikTok. And you’ll be comfortable creating and editing videos for the platforms.

Building a community

This project should benefit the disabled content creators. They’ll be paid for their content and any time they spend with us outside of creation. But we also hope to nurture a small community of creators who offer support and inspiration to each other.

We’ll be providing opportunities such as skills workshops and networking events across the pilot. Creators will co-design the workshops with us so they have a say in what the sessions cover.

Creators will have access to a dedicated Teams space for conversations and file storage. And we’ll be sending monthly newsletters to keep them updated of Scope’s wider work, highlights of the pilot and other opportunities.

Co-production

This work is about sharing power and shaping narratives together. And making sure disabled people lead the storytelling that represents their communities. We will have an ‘editor’ role, but it will be light touch.

Throughout the pilot, creators will influence priority themes and content ideas. Their lived experience and creative expertise will guide decision-making. This makes sure that outputs feel authentic, relevant, and grounded in reality.

We will co-produce the following elements with the content creators:

  • A key performance indicator (KPI) to track how valuable the pilot is to creators and give them the power to steer how we judge success.
  • Content topics for Disability Pride Month.
  • Skills workshops and which areas they want to cover.
