A personal budget is money from the local council for your care, giving you more choice. There is a carer’s personal budget and personal health budget.
Support for disabled people to live independently at home can come from a personal assistant (PA), care worker, paid carer or support worker.
If you choose to organise your own social care as a disabled person, you’ll receive your personal budget as a direct payment.
