Cold Weather Payments

If the average temperature in your area is recorded as, or forecast to be, 0 degrees Celsius or below for 7 days in a row, you will get a Cold Weather Payment automatically. 

You do not have to pay this back. 

You'll get £25 for each 7-day period of very cold weather if you get:

  • Pension Credit
  • Income Support
  • income-based Job Seeker’s Allowance
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance
  • Universal Credit
  • Support for Mortgage Interest
